Mumbai Indians batter Tim David and batting coach Kieron Pollard have been fined 20% of their match fee for breaching the IPL’s code of conduct during their match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on Thursday.
According to the IPL media release, David and Pollard committed a Level 1 offense under Article 2.20. This covers all types of conduct that are against the spirit of the game. However, he did not explain the crime. HD Live Sports
Article 2.20 states: “In assessing the seriousness of the crime, consideration shall be given to the context of the particular circumstances. And whether it was intentional, reckless, negligent, avoidable and/or accidental. Where the conduct on the scale of severity which range from minor (and therefore a Level 1 offence) to very serious in nature (and therefore a Level 4 offence).
Both David and Pollard admitted to the offence and accepted the match referee Sanjay Verma’s sanction.
Mumbai, who won this match by nine runs. They are currently seventh in the points table with three wins and four losses in seven matches. Their next match is against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on Monday.
