Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Sandeep Sharma has welcomed a rule change in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that allows bowlers to send two bouncers per over. And said it would keep the batsmen guessing and the game more unpredictable.

Twenty20 cricket has largely been a batsman-friendly format. In which the bowlers are allowed only one short pitch delivery in each over. Including in international games, but the Indian Cricket Board changed the rule to level the playing field in this year’s IPL.

Sandeep told reporters

Sandeep told reporters after Rajasthan defeated Lucknow Supergiants by 20 runs in their opening match on Sunday. “I think the bowlers get some help from that.”

If the bowler had already used one of his bouncers, he could predict where he would bowl. It would have been simpler for the players.

Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies failed to score in Lucknow’s unsuccessful chase of 194 runs.

“It’s a good rule. Especially when a guy comes in to bat, it’s useful. If somebody doesn’t like the short ball. You can pepper him with one or two of these, Puran said.

The West Indies batsman added, ‘But saying that. We as players and bowlers also need to do our homework. Some batsmen, they like the short ball too. HD Live Sports

Rahul had to go through the concussion protocol after being hit on the helmet by Kiwi fast bowler Boult. But the Lucknow captain didn’t dwell too much on the rules or his team’s loss.

“It’s just the first game. And I’m not going to take too much out of it or overanalyze it,” Rahul said.
