Imad Wasim opens up about taking back international retirement
Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim opened up about taking back retirement from international cricket on Saturday.
Imad is open to making a return to the national side if he is called up by the selectors.
“I made Wasim a name for myself while playing for Pakistan; if my country needs me, I will be available. If not, I have no issues with that,” Imad told local media.
“Shaheen Shah Afridi called me after I retired but I told him we would talk after the Pakistan Super League,” he added.
In November last year, Imad Wasim, who last represented Pakistan in May 2023. Brought the curtain down on his international career.
Meanwhile, in the Eliminator on Friday against Gladiators. United’s Imad Wasim bagged the Player of the Match award after registering impressive figures of 3-12 in four overs. Shakeel, Rossouw, and Khawaja were Imad’s victims with the ball.
“I think what we saw in the last few games, it was spinning, holding a bit. The thing I did well was to bowl slow, it was gripping and it went well,” Imad Wasim said at the post-match ceremony.
“I tried to bowl more slow balls than arm balls and mixed it up…worked for me…we restricted them and took wickets which is the best thing. If you do one of these right, you will win because powerplay is very important,” he added. (HD Live Sports)
