Afridi says Pakistan should have scored 220 runs in the third T20I. New Zealand made a stunning comeback in the five-match T20I series
Former captain Shahid Afridi believes Pakistan should have scored 220 runs in the third T20I against New Zealand on Sunday in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan posted 178-4 while batting first and ended up losing the match by seven wickets with 10 balls to spare.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, Afridi said that Pakistan should have made better use of the excellent batting conditions at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
“On an excellent batting surface, we didn’t make enough runs. The score should have been around 220,” Afridi said.
“Well played Shadab, the rest of the batters should aim for better strike rates in these conditions and pitches. Good luck with the remaining games.
“Great Inns by Chapman, a great lesson on how to finish a match!”.
