Mason Greenwood’s Next Club: Napoli Contacts Man Utd to Sign Exiled Forward
Napoli have reached out to Manchester United regarding the potential signing of Mason Greenwood, who is currently on loan at Getafe.
Transfer Talks Begin
According to The Athletic, Mason Greenwood, 22, is expected to leave Manchester United permanently this summer after his season-long loan at Getafe. While Getafe is interested in extending his loan for another season, Manchester United reportedly prefers a permanent transfer. Napoli is now monitoring Greenwood closely, especially with their star striker Victor Osimhen likely to depart in the coming months.
Greenwood’s Future Prospects
Greenwood, who had charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control dropped in February 2023, has also drawn interest from Juventus, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. The former England international’s contract with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2025, with an option to extend for an additional year. Although Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not ruled out Greenwood’s return to United, it appears he might be seeking new opportunities soon.
Upcoming Matches for Greenwood
Before taking his summer break, Greenwood aims to contribute to Getafe’s upcoming matches against Alaves on Saturday night and Mallorca on May 25. Getafe currently sits 10th in the table and could finish ninth if they win both matches and Valencia loses their final two games.
