Everything comes from Allah, says Real Madrid’s Arda Guler
Real Madrid’ young star Arda Guler revealed the reason behind his celebration saying that it comes from faith that everything comes from Allah.
Guler, who was roped in by Los Blancos in the summer of 2023, has had a difficult season due to injuries. The Turk suffered a meniscus injury before the season even began and underwent surgery. As he was about to return after months, he suffered another setback in a training session and remained on the sidelines.
However, after a long wait, he finally made his debut for the Whites on January 6, 2024, but he has not gotten minutes and remains on the bench most of the time.
He featured in Madrid’s recent La Liga match against Real Sociedad and scored the only goal as Los Blancos managed to grab three points in one of the toughest stadiums in the league. After scoring the goal, the Turk celebrated while pointing his index finger towards the sky which gained attention.
He revealed that he celebrated like that because of his faith as he is a Muslim and believes that everything comes from Allah. He also praised Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti for showing faith in him.
“It is based on trust. I believe that everything comes from Allah,” Guler said when asked about his celebration. “The club, the facilities, the staff they all continuously work to keep the players comfortable. I’m very happy here at Real Madrid.”
“Real Madrid fans cannot tolerate losing a match. That’s why you feel the pressure. The project, they [Real Madrid] told me that I would be Luka Modric’s heir. It convinced me.”
Remember, Madrid will face Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. As their journey for the record-extending 15th title continues.
Guler is likely to remain on the bench as Ancelotti wouldn’t start him in a match of this stature. But he could get some minutes depending on how the match goes.
