The 32-year-old is hoping to receive opportunity after performances in domestic cricket

Pakistan’s opener Ahmed Shahzad, has been out of the team for the past five years. has said that he is ready to bat in the middle order.

While talking to a group of reporters in Lahore, the 32-year-old is hoping to receive an opportunity after performances in domestic cricket.

“I have been playing domestic cricket consistently for the past two and a half years. My performances for the country are evident to everyone, but my name hasn’t been called up for the national team or the PSL,” he said.

“I have continued to work hard, and my performance has been outstanding in the current season.

“My name was included in the camp based on domestic performance; now I hope to get a chance further ahead.

Shahzad said

Shahzad said that he is hopeful that he will get a suitable opportunity and there is hope. That he could be a part of the team after attending the camp before the New Zealand series in December last year.

He added that I have improved the order and will prefer it. As far as middle order batting is concerned. So I am ready to do anything for Pakistan. But for that, it is important to sit down and talk about the plan.

Meanwhile, he revealed that Chief Selector Wahab Riaz has assured. That despite not featuring in PSL 9, his performance in the domestic T20 will be considered.

He concluded by talking about the new PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

“There are many challenges ahead of him, and he has done a positive job as the caretaker chief minister of Punjab. The chairman has spoken of merit, which is very good.”
