Real Madrid are heavily active in the transfer market, having already secured their long-awaited signing of Kylian Mbappe and managed to sell Joselu Mato and captain Nacho Fernandez.

Madrid’s president, Florentino Perez, is keen on building a squad that would dominate the football world for years. Currently, he is trying to sign France’s center-back, Leny Yoro, who is likely to leave Lille this summer.

Apart from Yoro, Madrid have also set their eyes on Bayern Munich’s left-back Alphonso Davies, whose current deal with the German club ends next season. However, Madrid is not the only club eyeing Davies. As one of the best fullbacks in the world, he is wanted by a number of clubs. His future remains uncertain as talks with Bayern are paused due to his participation in Copa America 2024.

Should his move to Madrid be completed, it will trigger a “domino effect” as the Whites will then have three left-backs, and they would be forced to sell at least one. Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia are the current left-backs of Madrid, and if Davies arrives, one of them will be sold.

Davies’ transfer to Madrid is still uncertain, but Los Blancos’ interest in Yoro is real. After Nacho left the club, they are left with three center-backs in the squad — Eder Militao, David Alaba, and Antonio Rudiger.

According to Diario AS, the deal will be completed in the coming weeks as Madrid are hoping to have the Frenchman in their squad before the pre-season begins. Yoro’s current contract with Lille runs out in 2025, and the French club wants to finalize the deal as soon as possible rather than losing him for free next season.
